About

Established in 2010, Eonyoga was the first Yoga Alliance teacher training school in the capital city of South Africa. Eonyoga expanded to the United States in 2020, opening a school in Austin, Texas. The in-person teacher training groups are kept small to make sure each individual gets the needed attention to learn and excel as a new yoga teacher.

The online library allows students to practice yoga through a subscription-based membership that includes beginner, moderate, power, yin, kundalini, bespoke yoga, breathwork, and meditation.

In Sanskrit, the word Eon translates to Kalpa. A Kalpa equates to 4.32 billion years and is the period between the creation and recreation of the universe. We believe that each individual can recreate themselves whether it be mindset, body, or lifestyle.

Teachers

Eon (E-RYT®500) is an experienced, registered yoga teacher at the Yoga Alliance. He has been practicing yoga since the start of 2007. With over 7000 teaching hours behind his name, he has the experience to share in-depth knowledge on physical posture, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, and yoga philosophy. His knowledge, passion, and ability to motivate and lead his students through his classes and teacher courses, provide his students with the necessary understanding of the yoga discipline and foundation needed for a lifelong practice.

Eon works with a wide variety of people ranging from professional athletes such as the South African Cricket squad, SA rowing team, Olympic runners, and many corporate institutions in Austin, Texas.

Carli’s (E-RYT®200, RYT®500) fascination with biomechanics and alignment drove her to pursue a career as a physiotherapist, to get behind injury lines. She qualified from UFS in 2012 and is currently working in private practice with musculoskeletal injuries.  She is passionate about sustainable change for her patients and routinely recommends them to do yoga. Carli started teaching yoga after completing her 200-hour YTT with Eonyoga Teacher Training School in 2017. She was blessed to go to India in 2019, where she completed an advanced 300 hours of YTT in Goa, with the Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre.

“My two worlds complement one another beautifully and I plead guilty to borrowing from one to enhance the other. Physiotherapy has taught me anatomy, physiology, and pathology, but yoga has taught me spirituality, philosophy, and the intricacies of healing. Teaching yoga is my way of making the world a better place. I love giving people a moving experience that calms the mind and challenges the body, to ultimately restore and reset your “factory settings” of peace. I look forward to guiding you on your yoga journey.”

Kara (E-RYT®200) started with Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga in 2006 and dedicated her time to the two practices over the years. She decided to deepen her yoga practice when she traveled to Goa, India, and did her 200 YTT with Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre in 2017. The course allowed her to submerge herself in yoga asana, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy. In May 2018 she completed a second 200 YTT with Eonyoga Teacher Training School in Pretoria.
